Job Opening - 2 AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteers - Alabama Coastal Foundation
ACF is now accepting applications to fill two AmeriCorps VISTA positions to assist with capacity building, education, and outreach. Positions require a 1-year commitment. Exceptional service may result in a full-time position.
Responsibilities:
-
organizing workshops and seminars in underserved areas of South Alabama that emphasize the causal relationship between human activities and the environment;
-
representing the best interests of Alabama’s coastal environment at community events;
-
assisting in the organization and execution of K-5th grade environmental education programs;
-
assisting with fundraising events;
-
assisting with membership and volunteer recruitment and retention;
-
additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university;
-
Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite 2007;
-
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills;
-
Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently;
-
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment;
-
Excellent Critical Thinking skills;
-
Passion for environmental protection.
Compensation:
Provided by the Corporation for National and Community Service through the AmeriCorps VISTA program and include: Bi-weekly Stipend; Federal Employee Health Benefits; and an End-Of-Service Education Award. For more information, visit www.americorps.gov.
